“I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles…”
We’re half way through the year, and I’ve just triggered the 500 mile mid-point to my 1000 miles of walking for 2022.
As soon as I reached 500 miles, the (slightly wrong) lyrics to the Proclaimers “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” sprang to mind.
It’s also a good reminder that music can be a great support for our own wellbeing.
Some tracks can lift us up, and make us fell happy, some meditative music can help us relax, and other music can be used by us to express negative emotions.
A while ago at work we constructed a Spotify Playlist of music that had helped people in the Peer to Peer Support Network I have there, you can listen in on it here. There is a wide variety of music there, some you may like.. others you may not particular enjoy. But behind each track, there is a story of how that piece of music has helped somebody.
For those who really want to know, on the virtual path from Lands End to John O’Groats, I’m just near Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales
