Nearly the end of May, and I’ve just hit the next big milestone..
The weather has been generally much nicer this month than previously, with the evenings light till quite late.
I was hoping that getting the miles in would be easier because of the longer daylight and warmer weather, but I’ve struggled a little this month – because there is so much more to do.
The Allotment has diverted my attention most weekends, the weeds are growing well!
Currently I’ve just about caught up with the pace-marker, but for most of this month i was a few miles behind. BUT i’m not going to worry too much, If i complete the 1000 miles a couple of days late, all is not lost…. life will still continue much as it always has . It’s very easy to get stressed on how we expect we should be doing. We set our selves internal targets, and if we don’t keep up we tend to feel bad.. when actually, it doesn’t really matter.
This month I’m sure I could have done a lot more walking, but the weeds at the allotment would be havoc, and the times out with the family and friends may never have happened.
So I’ll not worry about the fictional pace-marker on the virtual 1000 mile tour .
For those interested on the virtual 1000 mile route from Lands End to John O Groats, I’m on the A515 near Ashbourne, Derbyshire,
